Hometown stars are lighting up the college scene. Peekskill and Hendrick Hudson alumni are trading familiar fields and courts for bigger stages, while turning heads along the way.
From clutch moments to record-breaking performances, these former high school standouts are showing that their talent transcends the local scoreboard.
HEN HUD

Caitlin Weimar — University of Virginia (Women’s Basketball)
On March 19, Caitlin Weimar (Hen Hud Class of 2020) delivered a major spark off the bench in Virginia’s 57-55 NCAA Tournament win over Arizona State, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Two days later, Weimar knocked down a clutch elbow jumper to give the Cavaliers the lead against Georgia in a first-round matchup. Virginia went on to secure an 82-72 overtime victory, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen before falling to TCU, 79-69..
Maddy Porter — Eastern Michigan University (Women’s Lacrosse)
Maddy Porter (Hen Hud Class of 2023) continues to dominate in net for Eastern Michigan. After recording 25 saves across two games — including a program-record 21-save performance against Vanderbilt on March 4 — she was named Mid-American Conference (MAC) Goalkeeper of the Week on March 12, her second honor of the season and fifth of her career.
On March 14, Porter led EMU to a 12-6 win over Kent State with 16 saves and four ground balls, allowing just six goals. The performance marked the fourth-highest single-game save total in program history and set a new MAC game record, surpassing her own previous mark.
She was again named MAC Goalkeeper of the Week shortly after, earning her third honor of the season and sixth overall. Porter has been instrumental this season, helping EMU hold a 7-5 overall record and 2-1 mark in conference play.
Karli Marin — Vermont State University Castleton (Track and Field)
Karli Martin (Hen Hud Class of 2023) was one of 47 Vermont State University Castleton student-athletes recently named to the 2025-26 Winter Little East Conference All-Academic Team, recognizing a GPA of 3.30 or higher.
On the track, she opened the outdoor season strong, winning the hammer throw (39.64m) at the Yellow Jacket Open on Mar. 28.
Stella Allen – Skidmore College (Riding)
Stella Allen (Hen Hud Class of 2023) earned first place in Novice Equitation at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Region 3 Finals, qualifying for the Zone 2 Finals on Apr. 4.
Michael Gagliardi — Susquehanna University (Baseball)
Junior Michael Gagliardi (Hen Hud Class of 2023) has been a key offensive contributor for the Susquehanna River Hawks this season. Recent highlights include a three-run home run and five-RBI performance against Wilkes on Mar. 15, along with a multi-hit, multi-RBI showing in a doubleheader sweep of Catholic on Mar. 29.
Victoria Calabro — St. Thomas Aquinas (Women’s Lacrosse)
Former Hen Hud girls lacrosse captain Victoria Calabro (Hen Hud Class of 2025) scored her first collegiate goal for St. Thomas Aquinas in a 15-4 loss against Post on Mar. 25.
James McManus —Coast Guard Academy (Men’s Lacrosse)
James McManus (Hen Hud Class of 2025) netted his first collegiate goal for Coast Guard Academy during a 14-3 win over Emerson College on Mar. 28.
PEEKSKILL

Isaiah Ritter — SUNY Plattsburgh (Track and Field)
Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill Class of 2023) placed 12th in the long jump (6.88m) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Mar. 13, earning Second Team All-America honors — becoming the program’s first men’s indoor All-American in 15 years.
He was later named Mideast Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the first in program history, capping a standout season that also saw him break a 19-year-old school record with a 7.20m jump at the SUNYAC Championships.
Jaden Chavis — Rockland Community College (Men’s Basketball)
Jaden Chavis (Peekskill Class of 2025) led Rockland offensively during its NJCAA Division II Tournament run, scoring team highs of 19 and 15 points in national tournament games. In his debut season, Chavis earned All-Region First Team honors after helping the Hawks capture the East District B title and finish 21–11.
