Several athletic games were cancelled this week due to consecutive days of rain.
Flag Football

Riding a six-game unbeaten streak, Hen Hud is emerging as the team to beat in Class C. The Sailors have firmly established themselves as legitimate title contenders as the postseason approaches.
On Monday, May 5, Hen Hud beat Westlake-Briarcliff at home, 38-6. Lucy Mager completed 11 out of 18 passes for 182 yards and four touchdowns, along with two extra-point conversions. She also rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. On the receiving end, Kaitlyn Raguso led the way in receptions with eight for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Rachel Budde added a catch for 23 yards and a touchdown, while Jonna Rivera contributed two catches for 35 yards. Defensively, Sasha Lemus Villeda had five tackles and four sacks and Oakley Gougelmann had three sacks and an interception.
Hen Hud continued its dominant run on Thursday, May 8, shutting out Ardsley 40-0 on the road. Mager completed 14 out of 20 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns, plus two extra-point conversions. She also rushed 92 yards and contributed a touchdown. Christina Barry added a pass for 25 yards and a touchdown. Raguso hauled in seven receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown, while Kate Stratton caught five passes for 62 yards, adding two touchdowns and an extra-point. Rivera contributed a 19-yard touchdown catch, while Arianna Byers added a 25-yard receiving touchdown. On defense, Gougelmann notched a safety and combined with Lemus Villeda for 12 tackles, six for loss and two sacks.
Hen Hud, now 11-3, will play Woodlands for their final game of the regular season on Friday, May 9, at Woodlands High School at 4:30 p.m. The girls are set to play their first game of the postseason next week. Tournament brackets have not yet been released by Section 1 Athletics.
Softball
Hen Hud won on the road on May 3 to Sleepy Hollow, 10-2. In this game, Hen Hud’s Angelina Carbone went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and two RBI. Janae Walker had a home run and finished 1-for-1 with three RBI. Bella Booth went 1-for-2 with a RBI, while Lillian Tomlinson went 1-for-3 with a RBI. McKenna Silverman also chipped in, going 1-for-3 with a double.
The Sailors kept the momentum going with a 9-4 victory over Edgemont on Wednesday, May 7. Carbone delivered two hits and two RBI, and Booth hit a double and had three RBI. Emma Barbelet added two RBI, while Tomlinson and Silverman each tallied two hits.
A home game against Pawling on Thursday, May 8, was postponed due to rain.
Now 10-4 on the season, Hen Hud returns to action on Friday, May 9, with a road matchup against Ardlsey at 4:30 p.m. They’ll follow that with an away game at Walter Panas on Monday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m., before hosting Sleepy Hollow on Tuesday, May 13, at 4:45 p.m. The girls will end the week with a trip to Edgemont High School on Thursday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m.
Baseball
Hen Hud Baseball (4-11) saw no action this past week due to three cancellations, against Westlake (May 5) Mahopac (May 6), and Rye Neck (May 8). All games are expected to be rescheduled.
Boys Lacrosse

Hen Hud’s varsity boys lacrosse team also saw their schedule impacted by weather this past week.
Their May 3 game against Briarcliff was suspended in the first quarter due to lightning, with the Sailors trailing 6-1 at the time. The game was set to resume on May 8, but was cancelled again.
On Monday, May 5, Hen Hud fell to Pleasantville on the road, 18-6. James McManus and Drew Hiltsley accounted for all six Sailor goals, each netting three goals.
Hen Hud rebounded on Wednesday, May 7, with a 11-5 victory over Ossining-Peekskill. Hiltsley notched up three goals once again, while McManus added two and two assists. Aidan Roush had a breakout game, scoring his first two varsity goals. Ethan Walsh, Liam Moore, and Dean Pastolove each added a goal and two assists. In net, Aidan Mazzoni came up big with 18 saves, surpassing the 500-save mark for his career.
Now holding a 5-7 record, Hen Hud will host Putnam Valley for their next game on Tuesday, May 13, at 5 p.m. The boys will also play Mahopac at home on Thursday, May 15, at 5 p.m.
Girls Lacrosse

Hen Hud’s struggles continued his week with a narrow 15-13 loss to Greenwich at home on Tuesday, May 6. Kayla McCarthy led the Sailors with six points, four goals and two assists. Paige Montgomery also made a strong impact with four goals and an assist. Gianna Gagliardi recorded a hat trick, helping her reach the milestone of 100 career points.
Scheduled matches against Horace Greeley on May 3 and Mahopac on May 8, were both cancelled but are expected to be rescheduled.
For their next games, Hen Hud (3-8) will host Horace Greeley on Friday, May 9, at 6 p.m., followed by an away game at Albertus Magnus on Monday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m. The girls will also play Somers on Wednesday, May 14, at Somers High School at 4:30 p.m.
Spring Track
Hen Hud competed in the Joe Wynne Somers Invitational at Somers High School last weekend.
For the girls, Chloe Howard won the one-mile racewalk at 8:37.61, Nisaa Emery was first in Class B in the 100-meter (13.19) and 200-meter dash (27.96), Sophia Savatgy finished third in the 400-meter dash in 58.82, and Harleigh Corcoran was third in the discuss in Class B at 86’05”.
On the boys side, Victor Delgado won the Class B 800-meter run (2:04.78), Vivek Sekhri placed second (2:09.51), and Sebastian Soto placed third (2:13.29), Perry Quaye won the Class B high jump at 6’0” while Nasir Emery came in second at 5’08”. Hunter Kennedy-Brown was third in the Class B long jump at 6.00 meters, and Yamil Melendez was second in the Class B shot put at 10.05 meters.

From May 8-10, several Hen Hud athletes will compete at The Loucks Games at White Plains High School. The rest of the team will be competing at the Rasbeck Relays on Saturday, May 10 at Irvington High School.
Golf
Hen Hud’s varsity golf team had three cancellations this past week, including Lakeland/Panas on May 5 and May 6, and Lakeland-Panas and Ossining on May 8.
The team is aiming to return to the course on Monday, May 12, with a match against Haldane at Highlands Country Club at 4 p.m. Hen Hud is also scheduled to play Lakeland-Panas and Ossining in a tri-match on Tuesday, May 13, at Hollow Brook Golf Course at 4 pm, followed by their final match of the season against Sleepy Hollow on Wednesday, May 14, at Sleepy Hollow Country Club at 4 p.m.
Boys Tennis
Hen Hud beat Walter Panas 4-3 on Wednesday, May 7. The team also suffered cancellations against Carmel on May 5, Walter Panas on May 6, and Yorktown on May 8.
Postseason play begins Saturday, May 10, with individual competition, while team action starts next week.
Winter Honors – Girls Basketball
Kaitlyn Raguso is still piling up basketball accolades months after wrapping up her career as a Sailor. On Thursday, May 8, the New York State Sportswriters Association named Raguso Class A Second Team All-State. Raguso has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Scranton this fall.
Kate Stratton and Elyse Smith also made the list as honorable mentions.
College Watch

Women’s Lacrosse – Division 1: St. Bonaventure women’s lacrosse senior Fiona McGovern (Hen Hud Class of 2021) has been named the University’s recipient of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship. The Health Science major will be receiving $3,000 and plans to attend George Washington Medical School after graduation. McGovern has maintained a 4.0 GPA, while being a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse program. McGovern finished her time as a Bonnie with 218 career points, second in program history. She is also fifth in career goals (125) and third in career assists (93)
Women’s Lacrosse – Division 1: Last weekend, Iona University fell to Fairfield University, 12-7, in their first ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship game. Senior Kira Varada (Hen Hud Class of 2021) contributed two goals for Iona in this game. She also made program history during the game, scoring her 38th career free-position goal to break the Iona all-time record.
Women’s Lacrosse – Division III: Meredith College women’s lacrosse team won their eleventh straight USA South Tournament title on Saturday, May 3, defeating Methodist University, 22-4. After the game, Katherine Couch (Hen Hud Class of 2023) was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Baseball – Division III: This week, Nick Hiltsley (Hen Hud Class of 2021) was among 110 Union College student-athletes to earn spots on the Liberty League Spring All-Academic Teams. According to Union Athletics, to be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30
Men’s Lacrosse – Division III: Union College’s Chris Connolly (Hen Hud Class of 2021) was also named to the Liberty League Spring All-Academic Teams.
Track & Field – Division III: At the Empire 8 Championships last weekend, SUNY Geneseo men’s track and field team earned its first Empire 8 title. Trey Feirman (Hen Hud Class of 2023) and three other athletes placed first in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 41.92.
