Bryam Deleg-Sucuzhanay was arrested this morning on the 800 block of Constant Avenue by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to Peekskill police.
Three black Expedition SUVs arrived at about 10:15 a.m. on the section of Constant Avenue that abuts Decatur Avenue.
Deleg-Sucuzhanay was then seen walking down the steps from Decatur Avenue onto Constant Avenue with a person wearing a construction hard hat and a vest. On Constant Avenue, Deleg-Sucuzhanay was then placed in handcuffs and put into one of the vehicles.

Peekskill Police Chief Adam Renwick said the department had no prior knowledge of the arrest. “We were not involved.” Renwick said he received reports of the arrest after the fact. His department then called the ICE office and learned the name of the arrested person.
“This is the first report we’ve had of this type of action,” said Renwick about ICE agents wearing construction worker gear.
On Wednesday, concerns circulated regarding ICE’s potential presence in Peekskill. Renwick assuaged concerns, stating his department, along with the Peekskill Fire Department and the Sheriff offices of Westchester and Putnam, were conducting a drill to prepare for the case of an active shooter.
Phone calls and emails to the local ICE field office were not answered or returned as of this writing.
