City Manager Leaving for Job in Nyack

By Regina Clarkin

Sources tell the Herald that City Manager Andy Stewart is leaving Peekskill to take a position as village administrator of Nyack in Rockland County. Calls to city officials late Friday afternoon were unreturned.

Stewart, who took over the manager position in April 2020 was injured in an automobile accident on the Bear Mt. Bridge Road in April 2021.  City Comptroller Matt Alexander took over as acting city manager during Stewart’s convalescence. It’s expected that Alexander will assume that role when Stewart departs at the end of the month.
