The Peekskill student community will once again come together around learning and recreational engagement. On Saturday, May 30, Peekskill Middle School, located at 212 Ringgold Street, will serve as the site of Peekskill Pride, a free, family-oriented event dedicated to recreational and educational activities. From 10 a.m., the event will offer games, sports, crafts, and entertainment for both children and adults. The event is strictly limited to Peekskill students and their families.
The event will last approximately three hours and will include a bounce house, face painting, crafts, yoga, karate, soccer, and family workshops. In addition, two special attractions will be featured: a planetarium experience with a presentation by Westchester Circus Arts and the Two by Two interactive petting zoo. Admission to the event will be free of charge.

Peekskill Pride is part of Saturday Academy, a community program associated with the city’s school district that has, for several years, created extracurricular and family-centered spaces designed to engage the community. The Peekskill City School District PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) launched the initiative in 2018. Since then, its objective has been to strengthen community ties and foster a sense of belonging among participants.
Each school year, approximately six Saturday Academy events are included in the calendar, often structured around different themes that bring participants together through educational workshops, recreational sessions, artistic activities, and community programs.
In March, the event focused on the celebration of Irish heritage and the history of women. In addition to food and entertainment, the program included health talks led by Sun River Health, a community closet offering clothing, footwear, and coats for families in need, as well as workshops focused on college and career exploration.
