A blend of fair-like atmosphere, memory, and collective cleanup will take place on Saturday, May 9. The Town-wide Yard Sale of Cortlandt returns to the banks of the Hudson River as a colorful snapshot: folding tables, tents, boxes, and objects changing hands without hurry. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Cortlandt Waterfront Park, located at 41 Riverview Ave. in Verplanck, approximately 4 miles from downtown Peekskill.

The second edition of this large-scale community sale will serve as a meeting point for residents and visitors arriving with similar intentions: to sell items they no longer use, to purchase what others no longer need, or simply to browse the various stands out of curiosity. The event will run until 4 p.m. For organizers, it represents an ideal opportunity for spring cleaning while also generating additional income.
During the 2025 edition, the event received a strong community response. At least 100 vendors participated in the effort to give new life to items that were no longer needed at home. A similar turnout is expected for this year’s edition. The event has been promoted through the Town of Cortlandt platforms, along with a registration link for those seeking a vendor space. Sign-ups opened in February and are already nearing capacity, with only a few vendor spaces remaining.
A wide range of items commonly accumulated in daily life will be available on site, including used toys, books, clothing, tools, household goods, small appliances, crafts, and even antiques. Individuals interested in securing a vendor space for the yard sale may register until May 4. The cost is 20 dollars.
