Tamara Lynn Alves
Tammy Alves passed away suddenly on June 23, 2025, leaving a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Born on November 6, 1972, in Johnson City, New York, Tammy was the beloved daughter of the late William and Bonita (Wallace) Tomecek.
Tammy is survived by her devoted husband, John, and their two cherished sons, Julien and Jake — the absolute lights of her life. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Sabra Martocci, and brother-in-law, Michael, along with her adored nieces and nephews: Griffin, Gradyn, Adrianna, and Marco, who brought her so much joy and pride.
Tammy made her home in Peekskill, New York, where she worked remotely as a Channel Account Manager for Meridio Insurance. But anyone who knew Tammy knows that her true calling — her passion — was helping others as a transformational life and health coach through her work with Optavia. She had a special gift for lifting others up and inspiring change with her warmth, honesty, and boundless energy.
Deeply involved in her community, Tammy gave freely of her time and heart to support the activities that meant the most to her boys. She served on the board of the St. Augustine CYO program, the St. Augustine Home and School Association, and most recently gave her time and love as Team Parent for both the Kennedy Catholic Football and Lacrosse teams.
Tammy was the best of the best. She had a rare ability to light up every room she entered. Her laughter was contagious, her presence unforgettable, and her spirit endlessly generous. She made everything more fun — more meaningful — just by being there. And while she wore many hats in her life, the role she cherished most was being a mom. Julien and Jake were her everything, and she was fiercely proud of them every single day.
To know Tammy was to love her — and to laugh with her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the reminder to always live life with joy and purpose.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always celebrated.
