Spring Track

Hen Hud track and field athletes delivered standout performances at the New York State Outdoor Championships held at Middletown High School on June 13-14.
Junior Victor Delgado had a record-breaking weekend, shattering his own school record in the 3,200-meter run on Friday with a time of 9:02.70. The performance earned him a 7th place overall finish – which now ranks him 6th all-time in Westchester County history for the event according to head coach Marica Bailey.
The following day (June 14), Delgado finished 24th in the 1,600-meter run, clocking in at 4:18.92.
Freshman sprinter Sophia Savatgy also turned heads, placing fifth in the 100-meter (12.48) and 200-meter (25.47) dashes in Class B.
Savatgy also anchored the girls’ 4×100-meter relay team, which finished eighth in Class B at 50.01. The team included Savatgy, Michelle Ikokwu, Nisaa Emery, and Elyse Smith.
With a blend of record-setting experience and new blood, Hen Hud’s track and field team will be no short of talent in the year ahead.
Girls Lacrosse

Several Hen Hud girls lacrosse players were recently recognized with postseason honors by Section 1 coaches.
Catherine Wright was one of just 12 athletes across the section to receive the Golden Dozen Award, which honors excellence in academics, athletics, and community service. Wright is also the Valedictorian of Hendrick Hudson High School’s Class of 2025.
Kayla McCarthy earned All-Section honors, while Gianna Gagliardi, Paige Montgomery, and Carleigh Ortiz were named to the All-Section Second Team.
Boys Lacrosse
This past week, senior goalkeeper Aidan Mazzoni capped off his Hen Hud lacrosse career with a postseason recognition – being named to the All-Section First Team by Section 1 coaches.
A two-time All-Section honoree and Lohud Player of the Week recipient, Mazzoni finished his high school career with 623 saves. His final game came in a first-round sectional loss to John Jay Cross River in May.
