Alexis Bernard, Allison Hooban and Erica Mills won election to the Hendrick Hudson Board of Education and voters approved four propositions on Tuesday’s ballot. Incumbent Jeremy Basso finished last with two less votes than Hooban.
Current Board President Erica Mills was the top vote getter with 772 votes. Basso received 627 votes to Hooban’s 629 and Alexis Bernard received 743. The machine votes were tallied a little after 9 pm and the absentee ballots were tallied just after 10 pm.
Bernard, Hooban and Mills will begin their three year terms on July 1, 2025 alongside current trustees Cori Boudin, Tomica Dietrich, Amelia Silverman and Lauren Stanco.
On the ballot were the 2025 – 2026 spending plan, a proposition to approve a Capital Reserve, a proposition to approve purchases of new school vehicles, and a proposition to approve the Hendrick Hudson Free Library’s 2025 – 2026 budget.

Proposition Number One was the school budget of $96,232,500 (up 2.86% from last year’s approved budget). It passed with a vote of 922 to 260 and represents a tax levy increase of 4.58 percent.
Proposition Number Two was the Capital Reserve Fund of up to $5 million for a probable term of 10 years to proactively plan improvements on district facilities. It passed with a vote of 960 to 215.
Proposition Number Three was for approval to spend up to $750,000 on new school buses and vehicles passed with a vote of 915 to 263.
Proposition Number Four was the 2025 – 2026 Hendrick Hudson Free Library Budget of $1,420,913 which passed with a vote of 953 to 227.

Also on the ballot, each elementary school voted for a special lunch to be served in their respective cafeterias later in the week. The contenders were Belgian Waffles w/Toppings, Cheese and Meat Lasagna with Garlic Breadsticks, and Mozzarella Sticks & Chicken Nuggets with a side of sauce and fries. The results of these special elections were not available at press time.
