Boys Basketball

The Peekskill boys basketball team is through to the quarterfinals!
On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Red Devils gained a decisive victory over John Jay Cross River, 62-38, in their first obstacle in the postseason. In that game, both Jaden Chavis and Isaiah Crawford scored 15 points for the Red Devils. Colin Bishop scored 15 points for the John Jay Wolves.
Up next for the Red Devils is Poughkeepsie (No. 5 in Class AA) in the quarterfinals of sectionals on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at home. The winner of this match will face the winner of Tappan Zee vs. Harrison in the semifinals at the County Center next week.
Girls Basketball

The Peekskill Varsity Girls Basketball team will not be advancing further into the postseason.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, Peekskill fell to Brewster on the road, 68-22, in a sectional outbracket game. Nai’lah Smalls and Jayla Smith both scored six points for the Red Devils. Lauren Leon led the Brewster girls in points with 14.
Following this match, Brewster took on Walter Panas in the first round of sectionals on Saturday, Feb. 22, and lost, 69-42.
Peekskill finished the 2024/25 season with an overall record of six wins and 15 losses.
Winter Track

Arisa Specce and Jermaine Carter wrapped up the 2024/25 winter track season for Peekskill this past weekend.
On Sunday, Feb. 23, both athletes competed in a Section 1 State Qualifier meet at the Armory Track in New York City. Specce placed fifth, out of 29 athletes, in the 1,500 meter race walk (8:21.71). Carter placed 18th, out of 19 athletes, in the 600 meter run (1:34.07).
Spring sports
It may be hard to believe but the spring season is right around the corner. All student athletes (Grades 7-12) must be registered on Final Forms, if they wish to play a sport this spring season.
Spring season kicks off on March 17 for high schoolers and March 31 for middle schoolers.
