Peekskill’s Business Improvement District and the Peekskill Arts Alliance join forces that will fill the downtown with events bringing people and the community together with holiday cheer.
Peekskill Holiday Tree Lighting
For as long as I can remember, the City of Peekskill has had an annual tradition of welcoming in the holiday season with a spectacular Christmas Tree Lighting in the center of the City. This year is no different. The Peekskill BID, City of Peekskill and the Hudson Valley Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to join together as a community at the corner of Park and Division Street next to the gazebo for the Peekskill Makes Me Merry 2024 annual Holiday Christmas Tree Lighting extravaganza.
The Holiday Tree lighting will take place this Saturday, December 7, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m. There will be plenty of singing, caroling and holiday cheer at this spirited holiday spectacular. Kacey Morabito-Grean, founder of Let It Shine, the Shine On podcast (also found on Apple podcast), Executive Director of Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center, will host the annual event. Performances will include The Dance Conservatory (who will also perform at Jessica Lynn’s A Very Merry Classic Christmas at the Paramount Hudson Valley on December 14th &15th), Just The Place Dancers, the Kiley Center S.T.A.R.S. Dance Troupe, and Antonia Arts Wiz Kids. Songs will be performed by singer, actor and recording artist Doug Ferony, the Peekskill High School Peekskill City Singers who opened for Naturally 7 at the Paramount Hudson Valley this past February, singer Jenny Roxas, and the Westchester Women’s Chorus. Special guest appearances will include Santa Claus. Don’t forget to check out the ornaments on the tree created by the Arts10566 students.
In addition there will be free hot chocolate and cookies, Peekskill Makes Me Merry buttons and Santa will give away free holiday gifts to children under 12 while supplies last.

At the PAA Holiday Boutique shoppers will find fine crafts by local artists, including jewelry, wearable art, pottery, photos, prints, cards, and more.
