Less than a week after the official ribbon cutting at Fleischmann’s Pier, a 90-foot boat, The Emerald Princess will depart for a Fall Foliage Brunch Cruise on Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. from the new pier.
At the September 23 Common Council meeting the City Manager received authorization to contract with tour boat companies for this season. The Fall Foliage Brunch Cruises will run every Saturday and Sunday until November 10.
The Emerald Princess can accommodate 153 guests aboard its two levels. The downstairs is climate controlled and upstairs is available for outside viewing. Guests can enjoy a full brunch menu of French toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, mini gourmet sandwiches, along with an omelet station where the Michelin trained chef will make omelets to order. This Fall Foliage Brunch cruise includes a complimentary mimosa for those 21 and older or juice or soda for younger guests.
Frank and Laura Adam of RMS Cruises have been ferrying guests around New York Harbor for the past two years and when Fleischmann’s Pier opened they decided to venture north. They were familiar with the new pier because Frank does work for Custom Marine, the company that built the pier. He lived at the Viking Boat Marina in Verplanck for eight years and is very familiar with the river.
The two and a half hour cruise heads north with Captain Frank and a crew of two others. The cruise is $85 per adult, $42.50 for those ages 6-12 and under 5 years old is free. Purchase tickets at rmscruises.com.
