Disney’s Newsies Jr. comes to Peekskill Friday and Saturday only

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The Peekskill Middle School Drama Company is presenting Disney’s Newsies Jr. and the Peekskill Herald is gonna shout it!

On Friday February 9th at 7:00 pm and twice on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Peekskill Middle School, the PKMS Drama Company will roll back the curtain and put on the spectacular 13 number musical Newsies Jr.

Disney’s Newsies JR. is a shortened version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Newsies Jr. is inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City. When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.

Buy a ticket online, find a nice seat in the auditorium, and enjoy one of the finest shows that the Peekskill Middle School Drama Company has ever presented. Watch as Aidan Diedrich transforms into the role of Jack, Odette Flores becomes Katherine, and Alex Velasco portrays the role of Davey. The play would not be possible without the amazing cast, behind the scenes crew, the teachers and staff, the school district and the parents. An avid hiker, he enjoys exploring the local trails as well as the concrete ones in his job as a conductor for Metro North Railroad.
