Six live bands will bring their unique styles to the new edition of Onetwoheartu Summer Shakedown on the afternoon of Saturday, September 13. Pugsley Park will host the free festival, which will begin at 2 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. The event will also feature art and food vendors, with programming designed for all ages.
The day is part of a series of performances organized by Undertone Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting independent music and amplifying underrepresented voices. Performers include Los Chinese from Beacon, Your Friends in Hell from Boston, The Kulprits and the Paul Beladino Band from Westchester, Retrovale from New Jersey, and Pure Color band of Peekskill. The lineup reflects the regional scope of this initiative, which has brought together artists from across the Northeast.

In addition to live music, the festival will feature local vendors such as Whadafunk, Hope Draws Stuff, Den of Wax, and artist Emily Newgent, whose handcrafted work aligns with the festival’s mission of supporting artistic expression in all forms. The Kinwich Food Truck will also be on site, offering food options throughout the event.
The Onetwoheartu festivals have been independently organized since 2022. Its first edition, Fall Freak Out, brought together about 600 people at Esther Place in downtown Peekskill. Since then, the event has rotated between public spaces like Esther Street and Pugsley Park, maintaining its outdoor and free-to-attend format.
Undertone Arts defines itself as a cultural platform that seeks to “support artists on both sides of the stage, amplify underrepresented voices, and showcase new music.” Its team has maintained an active schedule of concerts in Peekskill’s parks and plazas, funded by donations and community participation.
According to festival followers, the name Onetwoheartu is a reinterpretation of the classic punk slogan “1 2 X U”, popularized in the 1970s by the British band Wire. The updated version replaces “X U” with “Heart U,” nodding to the original punk spirit while adding a message of connection and community.
The September 13 event invites audiences to arrive early, explore independent art and design stalls, and enjoy the full lineup of music. No prior registration is required, and park access will open at noon. More information about the festival and its schedule can be found at undertonearts.org.
