On Sunday, August 31, Depew Park in Peekskill is preparing with cones, balls, whistles, and lockers to receive the teams of the Noo Moves Entertainment 6th Annual Community Kickball Event. Matches will begin at 1 p.m. and the sporting day is scheduled to continue until 5 p.m. Each roster, consisting of 10 to 13 players, must arrive in advance to warm up and organize their game strategy. Meanwhile, the bases will be ready on the field and the audience will wait in the stands.
Noo Moves Entertainment organizes the tournament with the support of former Mayor Andre’ Rainey. The call for participation targets families and community teams from the area. For this edition, the organizers expect attendance similar to previous years: between 350 and 400 people, most of them residents of Westchester and Dutchess counties.
The agenda is free and simple: four hours of kickball games in a community format, healthy competition with space for pre-formed teams and for an audience willing to cheer the athletes. The call and schedule were confirmed weeks ago, and registrations began on August 1.
In addition to sporting participation, the 6th Annual Community Kickball invites those who want to volunteer, supporting coordination and logistics for the event. There are roles for setup, teardown, cleaning, cooking, refereeing, coaching, serving food, or energizing the audience. Noo Moves has opened the door to gift card donations or collaboration with local businesses.
The tournament is open to all ages. Teams must wear a uniform and have a team name. The event also follows basic recreational league rules. Detailed information on these regulations will be provided to each team after registration. For information, volunteering, or to register a team, call 702-466-7437.
