The summer landscape of Peekskill’s Riverfront will transform into the perfect stage for the concert by First Class Band on Wednesday, July 9. Beginning at 7 p.m., the vibrant colors heralding the arrival of sunset will accompany the band’s varied repertoire of soul, funk, pop, and rock. The city has embraced these musicians enthusiastically, with audiences dancing, singing along, and nodding their heads to familiar songs.
First Class Band is a Hudson Valley ensemble with eight members. They arrive on stage brimming with melodies ranging from classics of the seventies to contemporary chart-toppers. Their set includes songs by Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, and other marquee names. The band has performed in previous editions of the Peekskill summer concert series, as well as at other community events across the region.
This free concert is suitable for the entire family and is organized by the city’s Department of Recreation. The performance by First Class Band is part of the “Peekskill Summer Concert Series 2025.” After the Wednesday show, remaining performances will take place on Fridays throughout July. The month’s lineup includes:
Friday, July 11: The Saints (classic rock)
Friday, July 18: Billy & The Showmen (Motown and R&B)
Friday, July 25: Back to the Garden 1969 (Woodstock tribute)

Each show will begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately two hours. Attendees are advised to arrive early to secure a good spot. It is also recommended that the public bring folding chairs or blankets to sit comfortably on the grass. Parking is available in the areas surrounding the Riverfront.
Beyond the music, these events provide an opportunity for local businesses and community organizations to promote their activities. Small stands offering food and beverages are often set up, and attendees can learn about cultural or sports programs in the city. For those who come, it is not only a chance to enjoy a great performance but also to feel an active part of Peekskill’s community life.
