Kings House of Fire, Westchester County’s largest dispensary, continues to set itself apart in the cannabis industry by prioritizing transparency, education, and product integrity. In a bold move to ensure the highest standards, the dispensary recently organized a fully-funded company trip to Syracuse, NY, where its elite team of budologists toured Central Processors NY—the largest cannabis grow facility in the state.

Central Processors NY is known for cultivating premier cannabis brands such as High Peaks and Generic AF. The visit was part of Kings House of Fire’s mission to personally vet every farm and brand it carries, demonstrating a level of diligence rarely seen in the retail cannabis market.
“Imagine getting paid to travel and test cannabis as part of your job—times have changed,” said Walter King, founder and owner of Kings House of Fire. “But behind the humor is a serious commitment. Our goal is to ensure that what reaches our shelves is of the highest quality, grown with care, and meets the rigorous standards we demand on behalf of our customers.”
The trip included the company’s four certified budologists—highly trained cannabis experts who have completed over 120 hours of coursework through Oaksterdam University and passed a comprehensive final exam. Unlike traditional budtenders, budologists are required to maintain a deep, science-based understanding of cannabis, ensuring they can confidently answer any question from customers and guide them to the right products.

Walter also invests in developing in-house talent. Every budtender at Kings House of Fire undergoes a six-month training program culminating in a final exam. Only those who score 90% or higher earn—or retain—the coveted title of budologist. This ensures that all staff are equipped with not only retail experience but also an advanced understanding of cannabis science, cultivation practices, and customer care.
This recent trip to Syracuse is just the beginning. Kings House of Fire plans to visit five to six more farms throughout New York State in the coming months. The purpose? To personally ensure that the products they carry are grown ethically, sustainably, and to the highest standards in the industry.
“This isn’t just about cannabis—it’s about accountability and trust,” Walter said. “We want our customers to know we stand behind every product we sell, and we’re willing to go the distance—literally—to prove it.”
