To the editor:
How sad that the future homeless shelter on Lower South Street had to be scraped. Each member of our community deserves a safe, comfortable, and clean place to live even if temporarily. It was an ideal setting as it would have provided residents with some essential businesses and mass transportation nearby. I understand it would have provided an environment that offered a kitchen and many more services that would enable people to more quickly become independent. It is our duty and responsibility to find a suitable home for this fragile part of our community.
