Peekskill has a long-standing history with the maker of the great American Fairy Tale, “The Wizard of Oz”, L. Frank Baum. Baum went to Peekskill’s Militrary Academy and legend has it that he also coined the “Yellow Brick Road” because of yellow bricks found in Peekskill.
The Ozland Festival was was conceived by Scarlett Antonia, the Founder and Direcotor of Antonia Arts , inc. a creative and performing arts not for profit organization:
Scarlett’s hope is that the Festival will continue to bring joy to the faces of young and old alike, tapping into Peekskill’s rich history and the whimsical nature of the 1939 film: “The Wizard of Oz”.
There will be food trucks, artisan vendors, live children’s theater by “The Wiz Kidz”. Musical entertainment, dancers, singers and more.
