Children of all ages are invited to the Peekskill Fire and Police departments annual “Touch-A-Truck” event on Saturday, September 16 at Riverfront Green. This free community event was started last year and features things the whole family will enjoy. Trucks of every size and shape are lined up on the Green for children to sit in and learn how they work.
Sponsored by the Peekskill Police and Fire departments, K&D Industries of NY, and South Street Landscape Supply, Touch-A-Truck begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. All funds raised during this event will benefit New Era Creative Space, a nonprofit that celebrated their ten-year anniversary yesterday. The 2023 Touch-A-Truck is in memory of Officer Greg Jones, who was grilling food and entertaining the young children that attended last year’s event.
Last year’s event had music, K-9’s interacting with residents, face-painting, pumpkin painting, tons of food and games. Residents can expect the same and more at this year’s event.
