Peekskill Arts Alliance’s is hosting its 24th Open Studios! this weekend.  Open Studios is the trademark annual event where the Peekskill arts community welcomes art lovers, collectors and the general public into their private workspaces.

This year visitors can walk around 24 Studios, 13 Galleries, 30+ artists works displayed in Off the Beaten Track and 22 artists in 20 tents at the Tent Site Gallery located in the parking lot across from Bruised Apple Books. The event runs from 12 to 5 p.m. both days, rain or shine.

There are several solo exhibits including works by Dan Florin at The Field Gallery, Eliza Hernandez at the BeanRunner Café and Ellen Colcord at Hari PK. Renowned artists opening their studios include: Marcy B. Freedman, Will Hanlon, Jerzy Kubina, Paul Magliari, Patricia Miranda (studio open Saturday only), Toni Quest, Linda Winters and WHADAFUNK Studio.

There will be photography, painting, sculpture, pottery and jewelry to admire and purchase at the Tent Site Gallery among the 22 artists showing there, including Jo-Ann Brody, Robin Kline, Liette Lecours, Karen Nelson, Gene Panczenko, Marcelino Pagan and more.

The many galleries in Peekskill include the Artist Spot, The Flat Iron Gallery, H-Art @ Steel Imaginations, New Era Creative Spaces (NECS) and Third Eye Arts. Visit Peekskill Clay Studios and the exhibit at PranaMoon Arts Collective located in the Hat Factory just outside the downtown area.

Check out 2D and 3D works and films of over 30+ artists including Robin Arzt, Carol Bash, Beth DeWit, Lawrence Flood, Barbara Herzfeld, Thom Pernice and Joann Zwolski at Off the Beaten Track at SUNY/Westchester Community College-Peekskill. Also visit Hudson Valley MOCA on Saturday only, where the Peekskill High School Students’ present Gen Z on display in the Mezzanine Gallery. The students created the work and curated the show as part of a Young Docents’ program in combination with Peekskill City School District and Hudson Valley MOCA, also on display is The Arc of the Viral Universe organized by Carla Rae Johnson and including work by many local artists.

And be sure to drive along South Street between Hudson and Requa Avenues and see Peekskill’s newest art installation—the beautiful Five Arches Mural that adorns the Route 9 foundation created by Christine Knowlton and Candace Winters.

Visitors can go to the Gazebo on Division and Park Streets to pick up a complimentary catalog containing information on participating artists and a map highlighting all the Open Studio attractions. Parking is free on the weekends.
