PHS Drama Company’s production of life in the barrio shines

Lucas Gonzalez and Serene Mosley, both seniors, play the parents of Nina Rosario.

In the Heights, the PHS Drama Company’s production of Lin Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegria Hudes’s story of life in the Washington Heights neighborhood features outstanding vocal talent, stunning choreography and uplifting music. This is the directorial debut of Kiah Mahy and Patricia Johnson. Musical director is Kevin Larsen. PHS student Karla Ortega made this video for the Drama Company.

Sophomore Damien Calle plays the lead role of Usnavi DeLaVega while seniors Hellen Chacha, Lucas Gonzalez and Serene Mosley are Nina, Kevin and Camila Rosario. President of the Drama Club, Angeline Carlos-Caceres, a senior, plays Abeula Claudia.

Performances are Friday, April 21 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. and  7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
