Nathan L. Oglesby

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nathan L. Oglesby, who leaves behind a loving wife, Kim Oglesby.
Nathan was originally from Peekskill and has many family members and friends who still reside there. He passed away in Middletown, New York.
Nathan was born on May 9, 1961, to Cleveland Oglesby Sr. and Joan Tinsley Oglesby. Together, they had five children: Walter “Cookie” Oglesby, Cleveland Oglesby Jr., Donna Oglesby, Joann “Tina” Oglesby, and Nathan L. Oglesby.
Nathan is preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Oglesby Sr., and sister, Joann Oglesby.
Nathan is survived by his son Jordan Oglesby and grandchildren, Angelica and Xavier. Nathan had an extended family, including grandchildren Kayden, Madisyn, and Michael Jr.; stepsons Michael Sr. and Phillip; nieces Tamara, Vanessa, and Eyonna; nephews Joseph and Dominick Jr.; and a whole host of cousins and friends. A special acknowledgement to childhood friends Charles Cabell and Pete Peterson.
Let us not simply mourn the passing but also celebrate a life that was a gift to so many.
May we honor the memory by living our own lives with the same generosity, curiosity, and courage. As we say farewell, we carry forward the legacy of kindness and hope, knowing that the bonds of love are never truly broken.
To all who grieve, may comfort be found in shared memories and in the knowledge that a singular light — though gone from our sight — continues to shine in the stories we tell, in the lives we touch, and in the hearts that remain.
With deepest sympathy and enduring love, we bid goodbye, trusting that peace, at last, has been found and that a life so beautifully lived will never be forgotten.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Scotchtown Cemetery in Middletown, New York. Messages of condolences may be left at MartinezFuneralHomes.com.
