Father’s Day will arrive in Peekskill accompanied by creativity and art at The Field Library, right in the heart of the city. On Thursday, June 12, a card-making workshop will take place to honor dads. For more than seven hours, the space will be open for visitors to join the celebration.

From 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the library’s Children’s Room will welcome attendees. Surrounded by colored pencils, markers, construction paper, glue, and all kinds of art supplies, children will create a one-of-a-kind gift for their fathers. The activity is open to kids of all ages and requires no prior registration.
Children may attend with their parents and enjoy a joyful moment as a family. Those who arrive on their own will also be supported by library staff, who will provide all materials free of charge and assist participants as needed. Similar events have been organized by the library for Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
The goal of these gatherings is to promote hands-on activities and family bonding. The Field Library also offers a varied agenda for young readers: Teacher in the Library, bilingual storytimes, Saturday Crafts, activities related to cooking and science, and even educational film screenings.
In 2022, the children’s area of the Peekskill library was remodeled to offer a more comfortable, spacious, and organized environment—one where kids can enjoy their love of reading in a playful and engaging space. The tutoring section was also expanded, along with additional rooms for special events, including a multimedia room dedicated to video game programming.
Nearby towns will also feature Father’s Day activities in their local calendars. For example, in Briarcliff Manor on June 9, families will gather for a similar handmade craft session focused on personalized gifts for dad. In Ossining, teens will mark the date on Tuesday, June 10, by designing handmade presents.
