On Saturday, May 31, families will have the opportunity to reconnect with nature in Garrison. Starting at 2 p.m., Hudson Highlands Land Trust (HHLT) will hold a gathering that includes talks, workshops, and activities promoting environmental conservation and family time enjoyment. It is a free event open to the public.
The initiative, called Family Nature Day, will feature outdoor activities that combine entertainment with learning. Beginning at 3 p.m., presenter Brian Robinson will offer the seminar World of Animals. He will then answer questions, followed by other playful activities. The event will last until 4 p.m.
Families are encouraged to bring folding chairs, picnic blankets, and food, although snacks will be available on-site for visitors. In previous years, the event has been well received by the community. Hundreds of people have joined, including residents from various towns in the Hudson Valley.

The program includes simultaneous activities without a fixed order. Participants can choose according to their interests. In past editions, guided hikes, bird watching, natural exploration stations, and games related to local biodiversity have taken place.
This year, similar activities are expected. Organizers of Family Nature Day count on the support of volunteers and community members to carry out the program, which seeks to engage children and young people. The goal is for attendees to interact with their environment and learn strategies to protect the ecosystem.
Although pre-registration is not mandatory, the event coordinators recommend doing so at this link. It is also advisable to arrive early, as parking spaces are limited.
