Get ready for a day filled with innovation, creativity, and hands-on fun at the 17th Annual Engineering Is Fun Event. On Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:15-8:30 p.m., the Peekskill Youth Bureau will transform into a hub of innovation where girls and boys in grades K-8 will dive into the exciting world of STEM through activities like aerodynamics, forensics, and robotics demonstrations.
From creating wind chimes to building paper towers and programming AI [Artificial Intelligence], kids will experience the many sides of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in a fun, interactive, and engaging way. The fun event will have kids moving throughout the room in 15-minute intervals at experiment stations that showcase the many sides of engineering.
The 17th Annual Engineering Is Fun Event is sponsored by IBM, Peekskill Girl Scouts, The Home Depot, the Westchester County Department of Labs and Research, Peekskill Youth Bureau, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and trucking company RJ Turner LLC.
Space is limited and registration is required. The cost for this event is $15 and includes a station passport. Parents can purchase snacks and an optional fun patch. Proceeds benefit Peekskill Girl Scouts. Registration is open and families are encouraged to secure their spots quickly as last year’s event sold out. Register via this link.
This family-friendly event isn’t just about fun—it’s about making a difference. While students explore STEM activities, they are also encouraged to give back to the community by bringing a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Caring for Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill (CHOP) Food Pantry at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. By merging learning and giving back, attendees will be contributing to a greater cause while learning and showing that science and kindness go hand in hand.
