Holiday gifts

The extremely festive Let it Shine annual Winter Market, to support the Let It Shine Food Pantry, is bigger and better than ever. This year over 30 local vendors, artisans and crafters selling handmade gifts, jewelry, crafts, soaps and apothecary will be there. Local bakers will be selling divine desserts, cakes, breads, and fresh baked goods. Singer Addison Valentino will perform holiday classics at 12 noon. A fashion show will take place at 2 p.m. with volunteers modeling clothes from the Let it Shine Again (LISA) Boutique thrift store. At 1 p.m. Uncle Mike’s famous homemade Beef Stew will be served. Not only will you get lunch at this market, but there will be prosecco too. And don’t tell anyone you heard it from the Peekskill Herald, but the man in the big red suit is expected to make an appearance at noon with treats in hand for everyone courtesy of the Red Door Baking Company.
Find holiday cheer, lunch, music and great gifts just in time for the holidays. Not only will you find amazing gifts, enjoy prosecco and eat some amazing stew, you will get the opportunity to see Santa, hear great music and have a great time, knowing that you are there supporting a great cause. But don’t stop there, bring along a book, a toy, a ball, a truck or a doll and donate it to the Let it Shine Holiday Toy and Book Drive. Help Shine a light to a local child and know that you helped make their holiday bright. That is how they Gather Love and Give Love away. That is how we help everyone Shine On.
The Let it Shine Annual Winter Market will take place on Sunday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Hall, 155 Highland Ave, Verplanck.
Let it Shine, is a small local nonprofit organization, started in 2020, that helps support women in need and transition into safer spaces throughout Westchester and the Hudson Valley. To help in this effort, Let It Shine operates the Let It Shine Again (L.I.S.A) Thrift Boutique. The boutique shop sells household, clothing and thrift items. The profits made from the L.I.S.A. Boutique, then supports the Let it Shine Food Pantry and other Let It Shine Community Projects. In addition, Let it Shine also operates the Market on the River held at the Cortlandt Waterfront every Sunday from June through October. There are many other things that Let it Shine does and events the organization holds throughout the year.
