On Saturday, October 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Rotary Club of Peekskill will be holding its 3rd annual Fall Festival at Peekskill’s Riverfront Green Park. The Fall Festival is a full day of wholesome family fun and entertainment, and a time for the entire community to show up and come together to celebrate the Autumn season.
From wandering through the art and craft vendors, to listening to live music, and watching children joyfully play, there is something for everyone at the Fall Festival. Meet Rotarians, local residents, neighbors, and student volunteers who give of their time to work the festival and make it enjoyable.
“This event is designed not only to offer a day of outdoor fun for the community, but to raise money to give back to the local area and to international projects. It is one of our major fundraisers” said Chris Calabrese, President Elect of the Rotary Club of Peekskill, responsible for organizing this year’s event. “Peekskill Rotarians will be on hand to talk about the many scholarships available and grants that have been given out recently, such as to the Peekskill High School Robotics Team, NECS, Black Diamonds, and The Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation. They’d love to share our story.”
While meeting Rotarians and mixing it up with the local community, don’t forget to stop by the Peekskill Rotary Raffle tent to try and win one of the amazing prizes. Raffle prizes include things like an electric bike, VIP tickets to sporting events, jewelry, golf foursomes, gift cards to local restaurants, and more.
In addition, the Rotarians hope you bring your appetite. The Fall Festival will feature more than nine food trucks, a country kitchen, and Rotarians making fresh grilled cheese sandwiches that will melt in your mouth and satisfy your hunger craving. Afterwards, meander to the craft beer & wine garden to wash down the gooey filled grilled cheese sandwich with a fall wine or two selected by Dylan’s Wine Cellar or one of the many craft beers chosen by River Outpost.
Between noon and 4:00 p.m., walk over to the gazebo where you can sample and vote on one of the many chili’s made by local residents vying to become the first ever Peekskill Rotary Fall Festival Chili Cook-Off Champion.
There are plenty of children’s activities to keep the kids entertained as well including miniature pumpkin painting, a kids’ maze, and inflatables for kids to bounce around in and get their energy out.
The Peekskill Rotary Fall Festival will run rain or shine, and the weather forecast is showing that it will be clear with sunshine and a high of 72 to 75 degrees. Admission and parking to the Fall Festival is free.
Head down to the Fall Festival on Saturday and see for yourself why Peekskill earned the moniker “Peekskill is a Friendly Town”.
