41st Annual Road Knights Car Show
For the 41st year, The Road Knights Auto Club will once again host the Road Knights Car Show on Sunday, September 15th. This free event is fun for spectators and car enthusiasts alike. At the car show spectators will enjoy looking over rows and rows of over 300+ cars from old and classic to muscle cars and speed racers. Ultimately, each car has a personality and each has its own uniqueness that all spectators can appreciate and enjoy. The Road Knights Car Show will also have multiple food trucks where spectators can not only buy breakfast and coffee, but can also buy lunch and a soda. For those who would like to enter their vehicle into the show it is a $20 fee per car and there is no pre-registration, first come, first to line up. As in previous years, the Road Knights will be doing a top 75 favorite Trophies, and Cruise Rings 10 and also two memorial Trophies. This annual event is not one to be missed.
The Road Knights Auto Club started out as an idea by two brothers and their teenage friends back in 1954 who lived near the racetrack once located at the bottom of Welcher Avenue in Peekskill, where the current Blue Mountain Plaza sits on 7 acres of land containing Apple Farms, McDonalds, CVS and a few other retail stores.
In early 1955, the Road Knights were officially born in the shadow of the old racetrack and Peekskill Stadium. The Road Knights members loved tinkering and accessorizing their old cars, making their cars a statement of their owners personality.
As the years went on, the Club began to dwindle. However, in the early 80’s a renewed interest in car collecting and 50’s nostalgia swept the country. Since then, the Road Knights have continued to grow. The group promotes an interest in the auto world through car shows and auto-related events and to promote the club with an emphasis on safety and responsibility. Staying true to their credo, the Road Knights help the local community, its people and organizations in any way they can. In doing so, they created the Road Knights Car Show putting their Custom Cars on display annually for over 40 years. With the funds that they raise, they donate back to the community. Over the years, the Road Knights have donated grants to the Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Peekskill Museum, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital just to name a few.
In 2025, the Road Knights Auto Club will have its 70th Anniversary. They are planning to make their annual auto show a very special event. Mark your calendars now for the Road Knights auto show on September 14, 2025 for the 70th anniversary of the club.
