The 100th Anniversary of the Yorktown Grange Fair will take place this coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 6th through September 8th at the Yorktown Grange Fairgrounds located at 99 Moseman Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY.
The Yorktown Grange Fair celebrates everything you would find at the local County fairs all across New York State but twenty minutes away and a ten mile drive.
The Yorktown Grange Fair has been bringing the community and surrounding areas together since 1924. At the fair, attendees will find local farmers and artisans, livestock exhibits, art shows, and thrilling rides. Of course, there will be a plethora of delicious food options, live music, and an atmosphere of fun and friendship. In addition, there will be a full display of LEGO masterpieces created by local builders all vying for a blue ribbon as well as LegoLand Discovery Center Master Builder Matt on hand to do building demonstrations, answer questions, and give building tips and so much more.
On Friday the fair opens at 4:00 pm. Highlights for Friday include the rides starting at 5:00 pm where there will be an all day wristband special for $30. At 6:00 pm there will be a Pie Eating Contest where participants will bury their faces in blueberry pies trying to be the first and fastest to eat their way through the entire pie.
On Saturday and Sunday the fair gates open at 10:00 am. Both days will be packed full of fun where the whole family can spend an entire day enjoying all there is at the fair. The Livestock Exhibits and the Tractor Display will be open all day. Rides start at 11:00 with an all day wristband special for $35.
Throughout both days, Adam Auslander will be walking around with his Strolling Variety Show. At various times, gather around the wrestling ring as the East Coast Pro Wrestling professional wrestlers pick up their opponents and slam them down on the mat for the 1, 2, 3. Attendees can also watch as Mighty Mike brings his Strongman Show to the fair. Also on both days, gather around the Horse Ring and enjoy the Dusty Stables Riding Demonstrations.
Saturday, highlights include the Antique Tractor Display and Parade starting at Noon, the Poultry Showmanship Competition at 2:00 pm, and the Sheep Showmanship Competition at 4:00 pm. Other highlights on Saturday include, Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, a Watermelon Eating Contest, and a Tipsy Waiter Relay.
On Sunday highlights include the Horse Showmanship Competition at 10:30 am, the Cow Showmanship Competition at 11:30 am, and the Goat Showmanship Competition at 1:30 pm. Also on Sunday enjoy a Rubber Chicken Throwing Contest at 3:30 and a Poultry Costume Contest at 4 pm.
As the fair makes strides to be as inclusive and open for everyone to enjoy, the first hour of the fair each day is a quiet hour with no loud noises. It is an opportune time for people with special needs to enjoy the fair without many of the loud noises and distractions of the rest of the day.For the full schedule of events click here.
