Did you miss Hillbilly Parade due to the downpour that took over the Riverfront on July 31st and rained on their parade? Did you miss the pop-rock country Hudson Valley band that plays 250 gigs a year firing up the stage and crowds everywhere they play? From north to Albany to lower Westchester and cutting a path from as far west as Sussex County, New Jersey across New York State all the way to Stamford, Connecticut? Did you miss the fact that the lead singer, frontwoman, and extraordinary vocalist Cheyenne See is a Peekskill native? Did you miss the Peekskill Riverfront Concert series and really think they were over, thereby making it feel like Summer was over? Do not fret, Hillbilly Parade rescheduled their original performance due to rain and will be playing a full two-hour set this coming Wednesday, August 14th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. And the following Wednesday, August 21st The Old Mill Singers will take the stage at 7 p.m for the final concert of the Summer Series. They were re-scheduled from July.
As the band shows in their Instagram and Facebook reel, the rain didn’t dampen their parade on July 31st. They turned lemons into sweet lemonade. They hooked up their own equipment, set up shop under the gazebo at the Riverfront and played a one-hour completely impromptu special for all of the fans who rain for cover as the skies opened up. The best part is, not only did the band not care about the rain and getting a little wet, neither did the crowd who showed up. As the band turned up, so did the crowd who danced, smiled, cheered and made memories that will last for a lifetime.
Two weeks ago, the Peekskill Herald featured the article Hillbilly Parade led by Peekskill native Cheyenne See to close out Riverfront Concert Series in Pop-Rock Country extravaganza. The article details Cheyenne’s time living in Peekskill and how programs she attended in the City helped set the foundation for her musical journey and set her on her career path.
