Double Header July Repair Cafe’s
The last time a Repair Cafe came to the local area was back in March. The next time one is scheduled for our neighborhood is in October. This month however, there is not one, but two Repair Cafes coming to the local area.
The first Repair Cafe of July will occur on Saturday, July 14th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Croton Municipal Building Community Room. This will be the third Repair Cafe, and the second one in Croton, since the inaugural joint effort between the Town of Cortlandt and the Village of Croton joined forces in December of 2023. While walk-ins are welcome, registrants take priority. The best way to ensure items get fixed and the proper volunteers will be there is to send an email to [email protected]
The Second Repair Cafe of the month will occur two weeks later on Saturday, July 27th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church on Gomer Street in Yorktown. Inspired by the success of the Ossining Repair Cafe, the Grace Lutheran Church was the 2nd Repair Cafe in Westchester County. Since then they have held over a dozen Repair Cafes every quarter on the 4th Saturday of January, April, July and October. While walk-ins are welcome, the best way to ensure items get fixed and the proper volunteers will be there is to sign up for a time slot, using this link.
Repair Cafes are free community events where you bring your broken but beloved items and volunteer repair coaches help you fix them! Volunteer repair coaches will be available to make all possible repairs free of charge.
