There is nothing more intimate than a night at the Abbey Inn & Spa. There is nothing more magical than “An Enchanted Evening with Daisy Jopling.”

Take a moment to imagine the romanticism of this only-in-Peekskill date. Your significant other sends a text in the morning, saying “not to worry about dinner or the kids”, they have made plans for a romantic evening. They mention it will be “enchanting”, and will remind you of when you first started seeing each other. They mention to dress up and be ready by 6:00 p.m. What your significant other did not tell you is that they bought tickets to see “An Enchanting Evening with Daisy Jopling” at the Abbey Inn & Spa in Peekskill and made reservations for dinner afterward at Apropos, the inn’s Michelin-recommended restaurant.

The Abbey Inn & Spa, located in the Fort Hill section of Peekskill, is a 4-star Inn. The Abbey Inn & Spa was a former convent, for the Community of St. Mary, which Peekskill locals called St. Mary’s. According to the New York Times, the former community was the first Anglican/Episcopalian religious Order in the United States. Martin Ginsburg, of Ginsburg Development Companies, converted the building to the Abbey Inn & Spa, which opened in 2020.

Beginning on January 31, the Abbey Inn & Spa will begin a series of concerts bringing in artists from all over the Hudson Valley and the world to play for small intimate crowds. The very first person to perform at the concert series will be Peekskill’s very own, and world renowned classical and rock star violinist, Daisy Jopling.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. sharp “An Enchanting Evening with Daisy Jopling” will be held in the inn’s Cornerstone Room. The Cornerstone Room is adorned with historic hand painted ecclesiastical wall coverings and stained-glass windows. It is here where guests will be enchanted by the romantic sounds of Jopling’s instrumentation.
