The Town of Cortlandt knows how to PARTY! After weeks of attempting to get the party started, the forecast finally has glimpses of bright blue skies and sunshine this coming Saturday and therefore, the Town of Cortlandt can finally throw its Family Fun Day Celebration! This Saturday, October 28th, from 2-7 p.m. join all of Cortlandt in celebrating the 17th annual Family Fun Day at the Cortlandt Youth and Recreation Center located at 3 Memorial Drive in Croton near the Cortlandt Train Station.
The day will be jam packed full of fun and entertainment. Everyone, including your puppy dog, is invited to dress up in Halloween costumes and join the Halloween parades. At 1:30 p.m. the day starts off with a Halloween Dog Parade and is followed by the Hobgoblin Parade at 2:30 p.m. Beginning at 3 p.m. the Family Fun Day will begin with lots of entertainment. This Family Fun day includes face painting, balloon artists, airbrush tattooing, a bubble station, rock climbing, inflatable rides, obstacle courses and a train ride. There will also be pony rides and several local fire departments, fire trucks and apparatus, paramedics, EMS and ambulances, as well as New York State Troopers who will all be conducting demonstrations. Beginning at 5 p.m. The Jon Bates Band will be keeping everyone on their feet and dancing the day away.
The Cortlandt Family Fun Day concludes with pop and flare and sparkles in the air when fireworks begin lighting up the sky at 6:30 p.m. There are so many things to enjoy at this celebration that it’s hard to pick one. But the three best parts for this 17th annual Cortlandt tradition may well be the free popcorn, free cotton candy and best of all, the entire event is free! However, if cotton candy and popcorn don’t fill your belly, there will be food trucks, so bring a few dollars to be on the safe side.
