Anyone screaming for ice cream at the Peekskill Riverfront was satisfied last Friday when The Hudson Creamery opened its doors for the season. A deal to sell the ice cream shop fell through in the past few weeks, preventing a Memorial Day opening, said owner John Falcone of the popular place at 55 Hudson Avenue.

Falcone and his wife Tracey will be joined by their son, John, 20, at the shop along with 15 other employees scooping Jane’s ice cream, handmade in Kingston and creating sundaes.

The couple offer birthday parties on location and Tracey even takes them on the road along with painting parties. Falcone, who was a police officer in Peekskill in the 1990’s opened The Hudson Creamery in 2015.

This week The Creamery is open Thursday and Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12-9 p.m. Next week, after the 4th of July holiday it will be open Monday to Friday from 3-9 and Saturday and Sunday from 12-9 p.m.
