Herald Launches New Peekskill-Area Events Calendar

Readers of the Peekskill Herald will now be able to access events and activities in the surrounding area as part of our comprehensive Events Calendar which is sponsored by the BeanRunner Cafe and debuts today.

From karaoke nights at local clubs, to plays produced by New Era Creative Space and professional performances at the Paramount Hudson Valley, there’s something for every Herald reader –   from the motor-centric Sunday morning ‘Cars & Coffee’ series – to  the blissful tranquility of Depew Park ‘Forest Baths’!

Modeled on the popular Peekskill Weekender seen on Instagram every Friday and the Peekskill Exurbanist website, the Herald Events Calendar features images along with pertinent information about where to go for entertainment in this community.

“We’re excited that the community will have another resource they can use to stay informed of all the exciting events that are happening around town. These events are the heartbeat of Peekskill and deserve to be promoted and shared  to the widest possible audience,” said Fred Camino, founder of Exurbanist.

The Bean Runner Cafe on Esther Place is the premier sponsor of the Events Calendar. “Music, art and theater and other events bring a positive energy to Peekskill that all can enjoy. As a cultural hub, the BeanRunner Cafe is happy to sponsor the Peekskill Herald’s launch of their new events calendar so that everyone can find something to revel in,” said Drew Claxton, co-owner of the Cafe.

Last weekend when the band Wali Ali performed their jazz sets, a number of attendees were from New York City and Bob Baldwin, known as the Ray Charles of contemporary jazz, came and sat in with the band. “It’s a good sign that people are coming out of the city to hear great music,” said Claxton.

“For some years Peekskill has been the place to be on weekends to hear live music in intimate venues,” said Herald Publisher Regina Clarkin. We’re delighted to introduce an events calendar in a comprehensive format to make it easier for people to choose from all the various offerings. Thanks to the Bean Runner Cafe for kicking off the sponsorship of this important service to our readers.”

Readers can also list their events for community organizations by going to the Add Event icon on the main events calendar page.
