NAACP election season starts

The annual election of officers of the Peekskill NAACP will be taking place during the next three months. The public is invited to join the local chapter and participate in elections. The next membership meeting is Sept. 27 where a nominating committee is elected.
A month later, on October 25, the nominating committee submits a report of nominees and an election supervisory committee is elected.
The club’s annual Gala, The Freedom Fund Award Ceremony, takes place on November 12 at the Paramount Hudson Valley and 20 days later at the Nov. 22 meeting, the election of officers takes place. The Freedom Fund event is a tribute to those who have dedicated their time and energy to supporting the ideals and mission of the NAACP.
The ceremony begins at 7 pm with a special VIP reception starting at 6 p.m. All ticket holders are invited to join the after party at another location. Anyone choosing to renew their membership at the time of ticket purchase will receive a $10.00 credit toward renewal.
