Anna Fontana Prahl

Anna Fontana Prahl, a longtime Peekskill resident, died peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025. Anna was born and raised in Bronx, NY, the daughter of Frank and Esther Lagalante. She graduated from Walton High School. Anna worked as a dental assistant and office manager.
In 1953, she met and married Carmine DeMicco. They were together for twenty-eight years, and together raised four children. Anna later married Dr. Joseph Fontana in 1983. Among their adventures together, Anna and Joseph traveled with Rotary International to the Amazon, where she assisted him in doing volunteer dental work in the villages. In 1986, Anna had the honor to receive Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow Award in recognition of her fundraising leadership in support of Rotary’s charitable activities. Anna was also a founding member of the Inner Wheel of Westchester, a partner organization with Rotary in supporting charitable causes and other projects. Joseph predeceased her in 1989.
Anna was blessed to be married again in 1995 to Roger H. Prahl, with whom she continued to support and volunteer with the Peekskill Rotary Club. Roger predeceased her in 2015.
Anna’s memory is cherished by her four children, Michael (Carol) DeMicco, Carla (Michael) Angelo, Paul (Elizabeth) DeMicco, and Thomas DeMicco; her beloved grandchildren, James (Jenna) Angelo, Matthew (Jordan) Angelo, Jessica (Sean) Campbell, Joseph DeMicco, and Daniel (Serena) DeMicco; and her great-granddaughter Kai DeMicco. Anna is also survived by her brother, Dominick Lagalante.

Andres Francisco Delgado-Altuna

In the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025, Andres Francisco Delgado-Altuna, 34, departed this world, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Andres was born on October 7, 1990, in Cuenca, Ecuador. From childhood, he displayed an insatiable curiosity and an adventurous spirit that led him to explore many passions, including music, painting, and sports. His talent was brought to life in beautiful drawings and murals that adorned the walls of his family home. Each stroke carried a piece of his soul, and his art will forever be remembered with affection and admiration.
His love for nature and animals reflected his deeply sensitive heart. His family will never forget the many stray dogs he brought home as a boy. His free spirit was always visible in the way he dressed, perfectly complementing his guitar and bongo. He will always be remembered for the essence of his personality.
In this moment of farewell, Andres’s loved ones express their gratitude for the time they shared with him, for his music, and for his humor. They promise to always carry a part of his being within them.
“Rest in peace, beloved sukito. Your departure leaves an immense void within us, but your light will never fade, and your memory will live eternally in our hearts and minds,” his family said.
Andres is survived by his wife, Andrea Parra; his parents, Catalina Altuna, Jorge Delgado, and Marcelo Quizhpi; his siblings, Janina, Damián, and Neydelin; his brother-in-law, Jeremías Smaha; his nephew, Benjamín Lucían; along with his uncles, aunts, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who were dear to his heart.
With profound sorrow, the family invites the community to the visitation on Saturday, August 23, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill. Attendees are kindly asked to wear colorful clothing, avoiding black, as a symbol of the light and joy he shared with all.

Nazario Solis García

Nazario Solis Garcia, 59, of New York, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. Born on July 28, 1966, in Concepción, Las Minas, Chiquimula, Guatemala, Nazario grew up with a generous spirit and a heart full of kindness.
At a young age, he came to the United States to support his loved ones back home, a testament to his selflessness and dedication to family. Nazario had a rare gift for connecting with people — his warm smile, friendly nature, and willingness to help others made him beloved by all who knew him. He was a man who not only provided for his own family but also extended a hand to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.
Nazario is survived by his children Allan, Mark, Alexander, and Sandra; his brothers Erick and Leonel; and his sisters Elsa and Juana. His legacy of love, generosity, and resilience will live on in their hearts forever.
A wake to honor and celebrate his life was held on August 23, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Nazario’s life was defined by compassion, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to family — values that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Teresa Ann D’Alessandro

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Teresa Ann D’Alessandro, on August 22, 2025, at the age of 86. Born February 6, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, Teresa lived most of her life in New York; her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to raising her five children. She was a source of wisdom to her children and grandchildren.
Teresa began her career at Dime Savings Bank and went on to become a Mortgage Broker. She had an unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith and later in life donated her time to volunteer at Graymoor. She lived a life filled with love and kindness and worked as a home health aide, providing care to those in need until she retired. Upon retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and blackjack and trips with her family to Foxwoods.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Donald Kizer [Kathy Bruno], Latrice Hammond [Edward Hammond], Adele D’Alessandro, and Teresa Ann D’Alessandro; her precious grandchildren, Lauren Greene, Edward Hammond Jr., Tara Rose Hammond, Stephanie Ferreira, Dakota Kannenberg, Crystal Herbert, Jamie Kizer, Tristan Merlino, and Juliette D’Alessandro; and her precious great-grandchildren, Skyler, Lucas, Riley and Robbie Greene, and Sophia and Gabriella Ferreira. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Margotta and her husbands Donald Kizer and Raymond D’Alessandro.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on Thursday, August 28, with visiting from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Dorsey Carlone Funeral Home in Peekskill, NY, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Cortlandt Manor, with interment at Rose Hills Cemetery in Putnam Valley, NY.

Toya Will

Toya Desiree Will, age 54, of Peekskill, NY, passed away on August 14, 2025, at Hudson Valley Hospital. She was born on February 8, 1971, in Lehigh Valley, PA.
She is survived by her husband James Christopher Will (Jim), son James (Jas), brother Rodney Day, sister Dana Day, brother Jermaine Day, mother Sherry Day, and father Daniel Montgomery.
Toya was known for her honesty, empathy, and humor. Her laughter was contagious — starting with a pigeon mishap on her first date with Jim-and continuing through a lifetime of joy shared with family and friends. She loved playing cards, especially Spades, watching tennis, and enjoying episodes of “Two and a Half Men.” Even in winter, she insisted on wearing flip-flops.
She worked in admissions at Westchester Educational Opportunity Center, caring deeply for each applicant. Her earlier career in the music industry earned her gold and platinum awards for The Roots and Joss Stone. Toya was also a proud middle school spelling bee champion in Allentown.
Though quiet in her faith, Toya trusted in Jesus Christ and supported her son in his walk with the Lord. Her kindness and care reflected her love for God and people.
Toya will be remembered for her caring heart, honest spirit, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Her family is thankful for the love and support shown during this time of loss.
