Margaret Young

Margaret Ann Young (nee Kristoferson) of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away on June 21, 2025. She was 87 years old. Margaret was born on May 12, 1938 in Peekskill, NY, to Otto Kristoferson, Sr. and Jane Frances Kristoferson. On June 15, 1958, she married Raymond Edward Young at the Assumption Church in Peekskill.

She worked in ShopRite on Route 6 in Cortlandt Manor for many years.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann Astrologo (Paul); her sons Raymond Young, Jr. (Cindy) and Scott Young; grandchildren Paul Astrologo, Jr. (Adrienne), Rachel Santiago (Kevin), Daniel Young, and Renee Webster (David); and great grandchildren Jacob Lasch, Aiden Santiago, Vyolet Santiago, Owen Astrologo, and Jade Amber Webster. She is survived by her sister Katherine Kristoferson, her brothers Lee Kristoferson, Arthur Kristoferson, Gray Kristoferson (Lois), Ralph Kristoferson (Debbie), Edward Kristoferson (Nancy), and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by husband Raymond, sisters Marion Scolpini and Jane Barrett, and brothers George Kristoferson and Otto “Buddy” Kristoferson, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY 10566, on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Private cremation ceremony to follow.

Harvey, 24, of Stamford, C.T. was a politics and crime reporter most recently at the Bronx Riverdale Press where he was the recipient of a New York Press Association Better Newspaper Contest award for a 2023 feature story on the man who co-wrote Martin Luther King’s I Have A Dream speech. A graduate of Champlain College in Vermont, Harvey said he likes working in community journalism because it allows for making a difference. “Peekskill is a beautiful and diverse city with rich story potential,” Harvey said. “I look forward to getting to know the community better and shine a spotlight on your needs and interests.”
