A Peekskill man was arrested and charged in relation to an incident with a gun in the area of Ridge and Franklin streets (pictured above) on Tuesday, April 22.
Eric Gordineer, 33, was arraigned by the City of Peekskill Court on Wednesday, April 23, and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, menacing in the second degree and harassment in the second degree. He was released on his own recognizance, according to Lt. Adam Renwick.
In an April 22 press release from the City of Peekskill Police Department, they said at approximately 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the area of Ridge and Franklin streets and had him in custody. Police appeared to leave the scene around about 2:40 p.m.

At around 11:34 a.m., the Peekskill City School District sent an email saying that Woodside Elementary School was placed in a lockout as a precautionary measure due to the police activity in the area.
According to the school, a lockout means no one is permitted to enter or exit the campus, but all students are safe and indoor activities and instruction continue as normal. (A lockdown secures a building’s interior, while a lockout secures the exterior.)
The incident reportedly stemmed from a complaint about noise from some road work, according to a man who said he was a family friend.
In a statement, Con Edison said, “We’re aware of this incident and we take the safety of our employees and contractors very seriously. In New York, assaulting a utility worker is a felony and we condemn threats or acts of violence against our workforce.”
Gordineer was seen before Judge Sophia Trott. He pleaded not guilty to harassment in the second degree with physical contact, and menacing in the second degree with a weapon.
His adjournment is scheduled for May 12 according to the New York State Unified Court System.
