Spring has arrived, bringing with it cheerful moments for the whole family. On Sunday, April 13, the Easter Market opens its doors in Verplanck, just three and a half miles from Peekskill. This vibrant fair will take place at 155 Highland Ave., organized by the collective Let It Shine.
The Easter celebration will bring together local vendors, food, and even a visit from the Easter Bunny — all in one place. Both children and adults will enjoy a festive time at the Easter Market, open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on 8th Street.
Seasonal items such as decorated eggs, Easter baskets, and traditional sweets will be available for purchase at various vendor stalls. In addition, local artisans will offer candles, handmade jewelry, and spring-themed decorations. Entry to the market is free, though some workshops and activities may carry an additional cost.
Let It Shine is a collective of women founded during the pandemic, with a mission to support the community. Their motto is simple yet powerful: help others live well. As part of their efforts, the organization also runs a food pantry serving around 100 families weekly.
A team of about ten dedicated volunteers supports activities typically held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Local residents and businesses can contribute to the initiative through donations that help fund the food distributed. Let It Shine also operates a small boutique whose proceeds help cover expenses.
This is not Let It Shine’s first market. The group has organized similar events to promote local commerce, foster community connection, and provide family-friendly entertainment. Children are always delighted at the market. This year, they’ll be especially excited to meet Lisa the Easter Bunny and join in the classic Easter egg hunt.
If you have questions about the event, feel free to reach out to Let It Shine via their Facebook page. You can also contact the organizers directly through their official website.
