On Wednesday, June 26th at 11am, Sarah Troncone will be at the Field Library reading My Curls And Me during Storytime at The Field Library. During the event, after reading the book to the children she will lead them in a creative art project making self portraits.

Sarah’s Journey to Authorhood

“For as long as I can remember I knew I wanted to be a writer,” Troncone says. As a very young child, before she could read and write, Sarah recalls having daddy and daughter time where “I would make up stories and have my dad type them out on his computer.” It was at such a young age when her imagination ran wild, and with a supportive father who helped cultivate her imagination, that she knew that she wanted to be a writer.

“As a teenager, writing became my solace and sanctuary.” Sarah continued. “I kept journals as a pre-teen. When I would go through heartbreak or tough times, writing would pour out of me through stories and poems.” As she graduated from high school and continued onto college, she continued to hone her passion for writing, selecting journalism as her major. After college, as sometimes happens to the best of us, adulthood got in the way of Sarah’s dreams, passions, and her love of writing. But as passion runs deep and never goes away, Sarah’s passion came back to her a few years ago when she became a mother. “Since becoming a mother, I have reconnected with writing as a passion and made a commitment to fulfilling my childhood dream.” That brings us back full circle to the present day where in Peekskill, Sarah proudly smiles from ear to ear, and proclaims “Dreams do come true.”

Sarah is excited to connect with the community through Storytime in local libraries, daycare centers, local cafes and art events throughout Westchester County. My Curls And Me is her first published work and she plans to continue to write and publish in the future.
