Residents no longer have to reserve a time to swim at the Veterans Memorial Pool at Depew Park. Cathy Montaldo, superintendent of the city’s recreation department said the decision was made this week due to the easing of Covid restrictions. “It’s August and we only have a month of swimming left,” she said. The pool closes on Labor Day, September 6. Residents need to show a pool pass that can be obtained from the Parks and Recreation office in Depew Park. Guests are not allowed.
Attendance quotas will still be in place but Montaldo expects that the numbers won’t force the closing of the pool. Pool hours are 1 to 7 p.m. every day.
