More than 14 homes will set up tables with books, tools, toys and clothing. Hundreds of used items will change hands during the Peekskill Community-Wide Tag Sale, which will take place Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The city will turn into a large circuit of open garages and sidewalks filled with neighbors. The route will span about three miles, from the streets near the Hudson River waterfront to the residential edge of Carhart Avenue, passing through areas such as Walnut Street, Ringgold Street and Kissam Road.
The initiative is coordinated through the Facebook page Peekskill Community-Wide Tag Sale, where organizers will post the full list of participating addresses this week. Neighbors interested in joining can send their information via message or leave it in a comment before registration closes.
The project, which promotes simultaneous neighborhood-wide activity, began in 2015 within the community group Peekskill Community Network – The Original Forum, founded by Leslie Lawler. Since then, it has thrived thanks to her dedication and the collective effort of residents who each year transform the routine of their streets into a day of exchange and reuse.
Each participating household will prepare its own setup: tables on front lawns, makeshift shelves in garages, and racks of clothing displayed along the sidewalks. There will be no outside vendors or sponsorships—only residents offering well-kept items at symbolic prices. The simultaneous event, expected to draw a turnout similar to past years, is described as a great opportunity to find home décor and gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
Throughout the day, visitors will move across the city to attend this expanded neighborhood fair. The confirmed list of addresses will be published online before the event, but so far includes the following sale locations:
