‘No Kings’ Rally Planned for Oct. 18 in Ossining
To the Editor:
It is difficult to stay abreast of all the exaggerations, half-truths, and out-and-out lies that emerge from the Trump administration in all its forms from day-to-day. But among the most heinous is the recent vilification by Steven Miller and Mike Johnson of the nation-wide network known as INDIVISIBLE and its NO KINGS 2 Rally on Saturday, Oct. 18.
INDIVISIBLE is a NON-VIOLENT movement of courageous activists organizing in every state and nearly every congressional district — red, blue, and purple. On June 14, we members of Cortlandt-Croton-on-Hudson-Ossining-Peekskill (Ccohope) INDIVISIBLE joined with 5,000,000 persons throughout the country to protest Trump’s authoritarian moves and his ridiculous military parade.
Let’s face it. There is nothing authoritarians fear more than peaceful, organized people power. That’s why the White House is now turning its sights on us and labeling us as “antifa” militants in an effort to discredit, divide and intimidate us. But next Saturday millions of men, women, and children will come out to shout peacefully, but loudly, “We have NO KING in America.”
Let’s call this what it is: a baseless attempt to chill free speech and scare people away from exercising their constitutional right to protest an authoritarian regime. We invite you to consult the map on nokings.org to join our movement for free speech.
Sincerely,
Paul E. Dinter
Ossining, N.Y.
