Today marks the third anniversary of the Peekskill Herald as a nonprofit, independent news organization directly serving the Peekskill community by offering news reporting and profiles of the people and businesses who call Peekskill home.
Today is also an ideal time to contribute financially to the Herald to keep Peekskill’s only source of independent news strong and healthy. The Herald is supported financially by contributions from its readers.
Last week, residents and members of Peekskill’s business community gathered at the home of Dr. John and Kathy McGurty for a cocktail reception with the goal of helping the Herald reach financial sustainability.
Sixty invited guests enjoyed the breathtaking views from atop Fort Hill, just below the Abbey Inn along with a menu prepared by Chef Helene Chaisson of South Carolina. Special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. McGurty, Dylan’s Wine Cellar, River Outpost Brewing Company, and pianist Frank Squillante.
Herald publisher Regina Clarkin introduced the Herald’s new Community Impact Sponsorship initiative, where for a contribution of $5,000 an individual or business can create impact in the community in specific areas of reporting. Interested individuals or businesses should contact Regina@PeekskillHerald.com for more information.
